More Support for Mental Health Patients

Speaking at the Royal College of Psychiatry for World Mental Health Day

Lisa Townsend, National Mental Health Lead for Police and Crime Commissioners, has welcomed the additional support from government for mental health services.

Lisa said, 

"I’ve been working with the Home Office and other government departments recently, looking at how we better improve our mental health response. We must ensure the right support is in place at the right time for those who need it, and additional measures such as these should also help reduce the non crime demand on policing.

I will be briefing my Commissioner colleagues from across the country about these latest updates on Thursday, when we will also be discussing new ideas being implemented in police forces across England and Wales."
