Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend has named her preferred candidate to be the next Chief Constable of Surrey. 

On the appointment, Lisa said, 

Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend saw in the New Year with Elmbridge Beat on their New Years Eve shift. 

Lisa said, 

"It is always great to see first-hand the invaluable work of Surrey Police to ensure everyone is safe on Surrey’s roads over the festive period.

Lisa Townsend, Surrey Commissioner, recently visited the Solace Centre in Cobham, Surrey's Sexual Assault Referral Centre, with local MP Dominic Raab.

They met with staff who work at the centre, and heard about the work that they do supporting up to 40 survivors each month.  

On Monday 28th November, Lisa Townsend, Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner met with Surrey MPs in Westminster to discuss local policing issues and collaborative working for the benefit of residents.

Surrey Commissioner Lisa Townsend and Deputy Commissioner Ellie Vesey-Thompson attended the Surrey Police and Crime Panel on Monday 21st November, where they took questions from Surrey councillors and independent panel members.

Surrey Commissioner Lisa Townsend took part in Remembrance Day services to remember the members of our armed forces who gave their lives in service to our country. 

"This morning, I led a service with Deputy Chief Constable Nev Kemp QPM and our Chaplain at Surrey Police HQ to remember the members of our armed forces who gave their lives in service to our country. 

We will remember them.
